Oh, hello there!

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Britte Van Der Pouw, and I visualise stories through Motion & Graphic Design.

When I worked at a creative studio in Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand, the one question I got all the time was: “What on earth does ‘Van Der Pouw’ mean?”. Well, the literal English translation happens to be ‘From The Peacock’, so this is how the name of my business came about when I returned to my country of birth in 2021.

My name is Britte, a Motion & Graphic Designer from The Netherlands. From The Peacock is the name of my creative business, which I use to visualise stories. I prefer working with the Adobe Creative Suite; I basically live inside After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

Fun fact: I also am a Dietitian! I studied at the The Hague University of Applied Sciences and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics. After my graduation in 2016, I moved to Aotearoa New Zealand, where I discovered my passion for design and changed career paths. I worked at a creative studio in Dunedin called Nettl, where I completed an apprenticeship in Digital Printing. In 2021, I moved back to Holland and started From The Peacock.

In my spare time I am passionately living a healthy lifestyle. Many moons ago I was a professional slopestyle snowboarder, which taught me the importance of being fit and taking good care of my body and mind. I never lost the urge to train and love going to the gym, as well as going for a swim, a ride on my gravel bike or a big hike in the mountains. And – although I do not work as a Dietitian – I am quite a foodie and I really enjoy baking healthy foods (homemade granola is my favourite)!
